UN MATERIAU NATUREL _ CENTRE D'ART LES CAPUCINS

Les artistes Naïs Calmettes et Rémi Dupeyrat m’ont invité à produire une vidéo de leur travail pour l’exposition UN MATÉRIAU NATUREL, au Centre d’Art Les Capucins, à Embrun dans le Sud des Alpes.

“Pour cette exposition Un matériau naturel, ils ont invité le vidéaste, Irwin Barbé, et les graphistes VLF, avec qui ils ont l’habitude de collaborer, à produire chacun une pièce spécifique. Cependant, il n’y a pas d’ambiguïté sur les auteurs des pièces présentées, mais juste éventuellement sur leur statut. Quand Naïs Calmettes et Rémi Dupeyrat convient Irwin Barbé à les suivre sur le montage de l’exposition, ce n’est pas tant pour documenter leurs actions ou restituer un travail, que pour proposer un nouveau regard sur les formes et les matières qu’ils ont eux-mêmes observées. Superposition des regards, le film qui résulte de cette expérience est un objet double : il restitue le hors champ de l’exposition, tout en proposant une vision subjective et contemplative.”

VIDEOPROJECTION_ NUIT ANTINOTE AU BOOTLEG

Le Bootleg , nouveau club house et techno à Bordeaux, invite le label Antinote pour une nuit, avec les lives de Albinos, Syracuse et un DJ set de Quentin. Et je m’occupe de la partie image : une vidéoprojection acide/tropicale/baléarique qui durera toute la nuit. Plus d’infos ici.

TOME III

Du jeudi 31 janvier au 28 février, j’expose une vidéo, Neiges Diffuses, à la galerie Artisan Social Designer . Un clip hybride de 25 minutes qui s’inspire du phénomène du fond diffus cosmologique, visible à 1% depuis n’importe quel transistor de télévision cathodique. J’ai filmé des planètes, des gens qui pleurent, et des montagnes éclairées par la lune. Plus d’infos ici.

RUMBLE FESTIVAL !

Je travaille actuellement sur une installation qui sera présenté dans le cadre de la carte blanche donnée à CLFT et Airflex Labs par le festival RUMBLE à Lyon.
L’installation sera composé de plusieurs vidéo-projections à l’intérieur du club La Marquise, des plans abstraits de textures, de matières en mouvements. des élements majoritairement naturels, loin de l’imagerie de la fête, des soirées. Pas de couleurs, pas de présences humaines. une installation qui crée des sortes de fenêtres, des horizons qui permettent aux gens de sortir du contexte de soirée/clubbing/contemporain.

LATENCY RECORDINGS 001_ ALBUM ARTWORK

In addition to the music video, I shot the photo on the cover of Latency Recordings first release by Chicago duo Innerspace Halflife : Post Industrial EP. All the covers are handmade (silkscreen printing) and it’s a limited edition of 300. *Update : it’s sold out everywhere.

I shot Artisan.Social.Designer latest lookbook. Their previous collection was premiered on Vogue UK . This one is titled Les Paradis Artificiels. I also directed a short video.

Some of the prints from the LA JEUNE GARDE exhibition at Point Ephémère are for sale (pictures below). They are 19×27inches and glue-backed on agglomerate withe cardboard. ARTISAN SOCIAL DESIGNER

Deux de mes photos seront exposées lors de l’exposition éphémère de septembre à la galerie Artisan Social Designer, à Paris. Les tirages (1m par 1m50, contrecollés sur bois) seront en vente, tirages uniques.

Je vais réaliser le lookbook automne-hiver des pièces du méta-store Le 10ème Arrondissement, situé à Lyon. Les marques présentées seront, entres autres, Kitsuné, Surface To Air, Acne, Bérangère Claire et Commune de Paris. La série sera tirée sur un dépliant papier et sera aussi exposée dans le shop au début de l’année prochaine (janvier 2011).

ENSAD

I just learned that I was accepted at ENSAD Paris, which is one of the best French art school. The admission competition was quite hard (2500 candidates and only 87 persons selected at the end).

Je viens d’apprendre ce matin que j’ai été admis à l’ENSAD Paris, qui est une des meilleures écoles d’art de France. Le concours d’entrée était plutôt chaud (environ 2500 candidats pour 87 personnes sélectionnés à la fin). Donc en septembre je serai à Paris.

Venus in Fürs, the summer wasting on Platform

The fashion series and the video I made for Venüs in Furs’ 2009 summer collection have been published on Platform.

The Working Proof

One of my pictures is available on The Working Proof. I chose to pair this print with Computers for Youth, a non-profit organization that helps low-income children by improving their home learning environment.

My friend Luna Cedron and I are going to start the shooting of the LUNETTES FRANCE video next week in Biarritz ! We’ve got some cool ideas and some beautiful models (teenage boys + teenage girls). It’s going to be fun!

I’m writing the script for my new short film. It’s about two teenagers who are spending their christmas holidays in the mountains. But there’s nothing to do there.
Shooting is set to december 2009.

Diane Pernet, famous fashion journalist, loved our Venus in Furs “the summer wasting” video, and she wants us to submit it the next edition of ASVOFF festival ! here’s what she wrote in her mail : “I enjoyed the film, it is very fresh, as it should be. Exposition photo au Garage Moderne à Bordeaux

Une sélection de quelques unes de mes photographies sera exposée au Garage Moderne à Bordeaux en juillet 2009. Le Garage Moderne est une sorte d’entrepôt qui a été rénové par l’association POLA et qui accueille maintenant des concerts, des expos et des trucs dans le genre.
